Is the Shoemoney System a scam?

The Shoemoney System is one of the hottest affiliate marketing programs available today – but could the whole things be just one big scam?

Jeremy Schoemaker has been busy the last 6 years. After quitting his dead-end corporate IT job in 2004, Jeremy launched a string of successful internet startups that included an ad placement service for eBay sellers that sold for millions to MediaWhiz. Today, he is founder of Shoemoney Media, co-founder of Elite Retreat, an annual Internet marketer’s conference, and a prolific public speaker that commands thousands per conference.

And it all started with a webcam photo. Jeremy was the obscure, bald-headed, bushy-eye browed 20-something guy peeking out from behind black rimmed glasses, coyly pinning a check from Google worth $132,994.97 from a one-month Adsense campaign in this now famous photo.

His status as an elite Internet marketer went viral immediately. The picture was also the inspiration behind Jeremy’s widely praised Internet marketing coaching series, the Shoemoney System. The program details, in step-by-step walkthrough videos, how to make money from home working online.

Affiliate marketing coaching programs are everywhere – there’s literally thousands of people who want to teach you how to make money online, whether they actually do it themselves or not – but Jeremy’s system is different. Jeremy’s credibility is impeccable. As a marketer, he’s won awards and credibility from all corners of the Web universe.

Jeremy’s blog has been consistently named among the top affiliate marketing blogs from the likes of Technorati, Search Engine Journal, and Slate. He’s also been featured in articles from BusinessWeek, Entrepreneur Magazine, The New York Post, and even in Forbes (staff writer Andy Greenberg called Jeremy a “Web denizen”).

The Shoemoney Systems gives anyone who wants to make money online as a marketer the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to be successful. And there’s no shortage of course material, either.

From the Shoemoneyststem.com website, Jeremy breaks down exactly how many videos are in the program, what the videos cover, and how many hours is spent on each topic. The Shoemoney System is assembled as a collection of a total of 91 videos, packed into a chronologically ordered series of 9 modules, for a combined 29 hours of video material. As a Bonus, Jeremy offers 9 additional videos spanning over 106 hours of real Shoemoney stories, interviews with industry experts, and more.

The Shoemoney video topics range from learning the basics of Internet and affiliate marketing, understanding the concepts behind these business models, and preparing the viewer for their new ventures. The modules offer in-depth instruction of how to generate commission revenues, brand your business, using mailing lists, local and geographical marketing, search engine optimization, and much more.

Jeremy also offers an all-inclusive support and customer service portal, and various blogs, websites, guides, videos, and tools from his personal website, Shoemoney.com.

So, is the Shoemoney System a complete scam run by a faker? Decide for yourself – try the program today!

Entrepreneur Magazine Names Top 20 Best Franchises to Open In 2011

So, you’ve got some cash saved up and ready to take the plunge into self-employment and the non-stop, demanding yet rewarding world of franchises. You’re first task (it may be more daunting than you might anticipate): choosing the right franchise for you to open.

We have many suggestions for choosing a franchise that fits your needs, goals, and interest because every entrepreneur makes these decisions differently. But if you’re looking for the top franchises to open in the coming year, then you need to check out Entrepreneur Magazine’s list of Top 20 Best Franchises to Open in 2011.

Because with every passing year comes new opportunities, a new economic environment, and new markets to corner. One of the most profound lessons we learned from the Great Recession is that not all businesses took a hit with the nose-diving economy; dare we speculate that some franchises are recession-proof businesses?

Cleaning franchises will be popular in 2011

Consider this: four of the top 20 on the Best Franchises for 2011 list are commercial cleaning service franchises. It probably doesn’t matter how many layoffs a company makes, or that bottom-line margins have been cut in half during the height of the recession’s panic; offices will almost always need to be cleaned.

Also consider that the trends of making the buck stretch for businesses across the world will probably continue well into the New Year. While the recession may have ended, recovery as measured by our nation’s GDP is still crawling along at a puny single-digit percentage, and that forecast is not likely to change much anytime soon. If you’re thinking of opening a franchise next year, inevitably, you’re going to want to ask yourself, “Is this business needed and recession-proof?”

The four commercial cleaning service franchises on the list are Stratus Building Solutions, Jan-Pro, ServPro, and Vanguard, all ranging in start-up costs from a few thousand bucks to as much as $175k bucks. The next most populous type of franchises on the list are fast food chains, including McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, and Subway, which all carry substantially higher start-up costs and higher franchisee capital requirements.

Dunkin Donuts, Denny’s, and Hardees also made the list, and again, start-up costs are much higher, ranging from $200K to as much as $2 million. Some unlikely candidates also made the recession-proof list, including Anytime Fitness, a discount fitness club; Jazzercise, the popular women’s dance fitness class facility; Kumon Math and Reading Centers, providing supplemental education courses to kids; and Days Inn and the Hampton Inn, both discount motels (strangely enough, considering business travel has been cut way back in the last 2 years).

Unexpectedly popular franchise: SuperCuts

Supercuts made the list (perhaps a testament that while people will always need haircuts, they won’t always want a $200 boutique salon bill afterwards) and so too did 7-Eleven and AMPM, both convenience store and gas stations.

So, what kind of franchise will you be opening in 2011? If you want to associate with quality brands and franchises and at the same time leverage the economic uncertainty to work in your favor, you’ll likely be opening one of the 20 Best Franchises to Open in 2011 list members.

What Is A Link Wheel?

There has been a lot of talk on the web about a new SEO strategy known as a “link wheel“. What is it? And more importantly, does it work?

Let’s go over first what a linkwheel is.

Link Wheel Explained

A link wheel itself is nothing but a package of 50 or so links all grouped together. The typical link wheel has ~50 articles, and each article has 2 links.

One link goes to your “money site” or the site you are trying to rank and the other goes to another of your 50 articles. Each of the 50 article links is randomly distributed to make it harder for search engines to detect they’re intentionally linking.

So in total you have 50 articles all linking to your “money site” and each of these individual articles has a random backlink from another relevant site. In doing this you pass link juice to each article which then passes on to your main site.

Link Wheel Strategy

Link wheels can be highly effective when done correctly. Unfortunately, there’s been a lot of snake oil sold on the net for the past 1-2 years touting “automatic link wheels” and such which is just garbage. Any automated product is going to be trackable by the search engines and create nothing but tons of automated spam.

With a legitimate link wheel service you want to ensure that the articles are written by hand, posted to different sites, and everything is completely random and chaotic. Check SEO Link Wheelers, they are one of the most trusted, reputable link wheel companies on the web. They come highly recommended, and good luck!

Top Low Cost Franchises Under $10k for 2011

Low cost franchises seem to be all the rage among aspiring entrepreneurs not just for 2011, but likely even beyond. The popularity is spurred in no small part by a number of factors: the attractiveness and availability of micro-financing, the sour employment and jobs market, the elusiveness of favorable credit terms and financing, and the idea that the “new frugality” way of life has staked a permanent place in the mentality of American business.

So with an investment of less than $10,000, what are the top low cost franchises making a name for themselves today?

Jani King low cost franchises

1. Jani King. This low cost commercial cleaning franchise was first founded in 1969 (an indication of their sustained success, perhaps) by husband and wife team Jim and Arleen Cavanaugh, but when the couple split in the 90’s, Jim took control of the business and brought it to a whole new level. The company has over 12,000 franchises around the world and targets hotels, office buildings, facilities, universities, sports arenas, and other large, open-floor plan commercial institutions.

Why does Jani King top our list? The company is constantly reinventing and improving itself with high success rates, startup costs as low as $3,000, and flexible work hours for the franchisee. The commercial cleaning business is somewhat economically indestructible too; as long as a company is in business, they need their office trash taken out.

Jazzercise low cost franchises

2. Jazzercise. By removing the full room mirrors from her traditional dance studio in 1989, professional dancer and businesswoman Judi Sheppard Missett ditched the convention methods of instructional and formal dance lessons for a fun and inventive dance, aerobics, and workout hybrid program. The results have been phenomenal: since 1980, Jazzercise has given launch to 7,600 global franchises.

The benefits are plentiful: again, the flexible part-time schedule is available, you can work from home (the program and classes can be held in a park or on your home patio), and the startup costs range from just $2,100 to $9,100.

Coverall low cost franchises

3. Coverall Health-Based Cleaning System. Although technically not eligible for inclusion on our top low cost franchises under $10,000 list, we made a special exception the Coverall opportunity and their $10,600 minimum investment. Yes, they’re another commercial cleaning franchise, but they have a few unique twists.

First, their services include routine cleaning, carpet cleaning, restroom sanitation, and floor restoration – not an uncommon array or offerings – but they do it with a “green” twist. Coverall is recognized by the EPA as a “Champion” and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. Additionally, they also offer the AEGIS Floorsystems, a safety floor treatments system that prevent slipping accidents. Finally, they offer international and territorial-based opportunities for new franchisees and even have an incentive program in place for veterans.

Why You Want To Buy a Franchise Versus Starting From Scratch

Buy a franchise from one of these iconic brands

Buy a franchise from one of these iconic brands

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding franchises, but why? Why would a fledging businessman, who is creative and entrepreneurial by nature, want to buy a franchise and pay some company to essentially open a new location and revenue stream for them? In this article, let’s look into why someone would want to buy a franchise versus starting their own brand new venture or business.

A franchise is a proven success model.

First of all, let’s be frank on what a franchise is: essentially, it’s an acronym for “successful and proven business model for sale”. The most obvious reason people buy franchises is because it’s a business that, for the most part, has all the uncertainty and risks removed from it. The systems and formulas are already in place; the brand, consumer market and product has already been tested, researched, and launched, making franchises a turn-key opportunity that allows business owners to focus on simply running the business, not building it.

The gambles with failure associated with thinking up a business, a business plan, testing the plan, launching the product, and managing the product have all been eliminated. The successful and profitable franchise, in theory, can be easily duplicated by anyone. That’s not to say all franchise opportunities are a guaranteed home run; in fact, that’s far from the truth.

Franchises allow you to be in control of your success.

While a franchise does offer a unique opportunity for a “short cut” to entrepreneurial success, they don’t guarantee it. As a businessman who buys a franchise, you pay a royalty or “usage” fee to the franchisor regardless of whether or not you succeed. The franchisor’s disposition is in exchange for that fee, they are promising to deliver to you all the tools, systems, education, and resources available that they know when utilized properly, will result in a high probability of success.

That means you’re still in control of the success of your franchise. When you buy a franchise, you’re buying education, usually some one-on-one training from the franchisor, all the constantly updated materials and internal systems the company uses in its day to day operation, and you’ve basically inherited the right to do what they do in your market or territory. It’s still your responsibility to execute their system properly and according to their direction, and in return, you will likely reap whatever profits you generate.

Franchises are wildly popular.

Franchise as a proven business model

Franchising as a business model is wildly popular because the benefits for both parties on either side of the partnership are so vast. Franchising offers a company the opportunity to grow rapidly without the use of existing growth capital, and offers franchisees the opportunity to license that company’s existing brand, product, and trademark that is recognized for a track record of success and profitability.

The diversity among today’s available franchises is incredibly wide. From the low cost, low startup home-based franchises to the world’s most iconic brands like McDonalds, franchises come in all shapes, sizes, tastes, and industries. Franchising is used in more than 70 industries and generates collectively more than $1 trillion in sales in the US alone.

So what are you waiting for? Buying a franchise is an elegant solution in launching the career of your dreams if you’re aspiring to be a successful self-made money maker.
